In 2004, after a life-changing trip to Honduras, our family journeyed to New Orleans from Texas to be trained and equipped for outreach. Within eight days of arriving in New Orleans, our youngest daughter, Brooke, was diagnosed with leukemia. After two years of fighting courageously through intense chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant, Brooke passed away on September 29, 2006.

Although her life was short, she left behind a remarkable legacy of faith, hope and BIG Love. Birthed through much hardship and suffering, but also great love, my husband and I founded B.I.G. Love Cancer Care Services in February of 2007 in memory of Brooke’s life with one primary focus…to ease the childhood cancer journey.

I love BIG Love Cancer Care. Everything about the mission. Everything about the BIG Love family. Ever since Brooke passed away, it has been our deep passion and purpose to help ease the childhood cancer journey for others. I believe we have been relentless in that pursuit. As I reflect over the past 14 years, I am overwhelmed by God’s favor and provision and humbled by the love and support of the thousands of friends and families who stand with us in support of this singular cause.

Today, the scope and success of BIG Love Cancer Care astounds me - reaching over 100,000 children and families, offering tangible services at six Texas hospitals. With this growth in mind and after much purposeful thought, the Board of Directors and I have decided to strengthen our leadership team and the sustainability of BIG Love by hiring a new Executive Director to compliment the fantastic team we have. It has been a true honor to serve as the Executive Director over the last 14 years. BIG Love is in great hands!

As I enter this new phase of my life, as a mom to a nine year old son (Trust), 21 year old daughter(Taylor), four furry canines (Girlfriend, Miley, Ranger, & Baxter) and one sassy cat(Lucy), I have a new vision that fills my heart and mind! It is to inspire the BIG ideas of others and help them generate their own remarkable growth! That’s YOU!
